Locate the receipts and gate output; distinguish the historical public sample from your own run.

Identify which result you are reading

By this point you may have an offline worksheet, or an optional privately retained live result produced through the approved workflow. Name which one you have. The dimensional-model demo, the missing-evidence regression and a live qualification answer different questions. A useful handover keeps their observations distinct instead of adding them together into a broader claim.

The historical AdventureWorks walkthrough reports a 23-scenario source-entry pass and a separate one-scenario Gold-entry pass. That is historical evidence for those named observations. The regression exercise evaluates 24 scenarios with missing execution evidence and expects failures with reasons. Those records do not establish one combined live run, and they are not your own current qualification. Explain that distinction before quoting any scenario count.

Follow the selected gate to its evidence

In a real retained project, locate the selected gate output through the current overview and package guidance. Identify its entry scope, required checks, expectation bindings and observation time. Follow the supporting receipts to the producer results and declared dependencies. A producer's pass flag is not enough: the gate recomputes comparisons and inspects the evidence required for its scope.

Record what was actually observed at each boundary. A generated semantic model is an artifact. Gold reconciliation needs independent actual-versus-expected observations. Serving checks need the deployed model's query results. Rendered values need their own declared observations. Where one is missing, name that absence rather than filling it with a screenshot or an unrelated successful test.

Check freshness and history

Ask whether the retained bindings still match the selected inputs, outputs and upstream evidence. An observed change can stale dependent receipts. A newer failed retry supersedes an older success, so selecting a green historical result does not describe the current state. Keep the older result for investigation without presenting it as today's proof.

The ledger does not continuously poll every remote dependency. State freshness using the observations and bindings you actually have. A future refresh, another security role or an untested filter state can fall outside the claim. If broader coverage is needed, identify the additional scenarios and observations through the owning workflow rather than widening the wording of the existing result.

Separate the handoff artifacts

A raw local receipt may contain private values. A signed attestation is a closed, value-free projection with bounded verdicts, times and keyed commitments. A Hosted acknowledgement is separately signed evidence that Hosted accepted the bound envelope. These artifacts are related, but they are not interchangeable. Hosted authenticates the projection and its authority; local independent comparison owns the business numbers.

Human acceptance remains separate again. Grain ratification and report acceptance require actual decisions by authorised people. A passing gate, a paid course or a machine score does not award a professional credential. Academy certification is planned, and a client's reporting certificate would require its own policy and human award authority.

Result to explainHonest wording
Model demonstrationThe documented fixture artifacts and metadata checks completed
Negative regressionMissing evidence was correctly refused
Historical walkthroughThe named checks passed in that recorded historical scope
Optional live resultThe declared checks have the stated result in this retained observation

Completion check

Finish the offline lab worksheet with three short paragraphs. Explain why the model demo passes, why the empty-evidence gate fails and why neither proves your current report. If you performed approved live work, retain its evidence privately and add only a synthetic summary of scope and limitations to the learning record.
